ICT

ICT refers to technologies that provide access to information through telecommunications. It is similar to Information Technology (IT), but focuses primarily on communication technologies. This includes the Internet, wireless networks, cell phones, and other communication mediums. ICT stand for information and communication technologies and are defined, for the purposes of this primer, as a “diverse set of technological tools and resources used to communicate, and to create, disseminate, store, and manage information.” … The potential of each technology varies according to how it is used.

HOME ECONOMICS

Through the processes of selecting, preparing, cooking, and serving food, students develop their creativity and experience a sense of accomplishment. At the same time, they develop personal and interpersonal understandings and skills that contribute to well-being. Home economics has a very significant role in nation building. The health of a family is fundamental to the growth and development of any society. With this, Home economics vital part is to raise the level of living and improve the quality of life of an individual and of a family.

ARTS & DESIGN

The Arts & Design Track intends to provide students with knowledge of the different arts & designs forms, materials, media, and production in the creative industries. … When it comes to visual arts it is other than painting. There is printmaking, architecture, interior designing, photography, and film production.

HOME ECONOMICS 12

Hospitality is focused on the preparation, production, and service of food in a commercial environment. Home Economics teaches students practical skills for daily living. In the process of transitioning from childhood to adulthood, high school students need training in practices such as nutrition, financial responsibility, home management and child development so they can lead safe and productive lives.

BREAD & PASTRY

Bread and Pastry is one of the specialized subjects under the technical vocational livelihood track. The word “pastries” suggests many kinds of baked products made from ingredients such as flour, sugar, milk, butter, shortening, baking powder, and eggs. Small tarts and other sweet baked products are called pastries. Common pastry dishes include pies, tarts, quiches and pasties.

BARTENDING

A bartender (also known as a barkeep, barman, barmaid, bar chef, tapster, mixologist, alcohol server, flairman or an alcohol chef) is a person who formulates and serves alcoholic or soft drink beverages behind the bar, usually in a licensed establishment. A bartender is someone who mixes and serves drinks to customers, either directly from patrons at the bar, or through waiters and waitresses who place drink orders for dining room customers. They must know a wide range of drink recipes and be able to mix drinks accurately, quickly, and without waste.

FRONT DESK CLERK

The front desk clerk/receptionist performs routine clerical, secretarial and administrative work in answering telephones, receiving the public, providing customer assistance, data processing, and record-keeping. A Front Desk Clerk represents the first point of contact with the clients of a business, hotel or doctor’s office. They perform essential front desk administrative duties including answering phone calls, greeting clients, and overseeing the office budget. Also known as a front desk receptionist.

HOUSEKEEPING & BELLBOY

Housekeeping is an important department of the hotel industry especially responsible for cleanliness aesthetic upkeep of the rooms, maintenance, public area, back area and surroundings. After cleanliness and quality of the rooms and services, a hotel solely survives on the sale of room, food, beverages and other minor. Housekeeping is doing basic cleaning tasks in a house, hotel or other locations, or the department of employees who manage and perform cleaning tasks. 

TOURISM

Tourism means people traveling for fun. It includes activities such as sightseeing and camping. People who travel for fun are called “tourists”. Places where many tourist stay are called “resorts”. Some people travel to do an activity which they cannot do at home. Tourism has become an important sector that has an impact on development of country economy. The main benefits of tourism are income creation and generation of jobs. Tourism is backbone in financial hubs many countries in world because they earn tons of dollars every year.

EVENT MANAGEMENT

Event managers plan and organize promotional, business and social events. You’ll manage the whole process from the planning stage, right through to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation. The role is primarily hands-on and often involves working as part of a team. An event manager is in charge of planning, organizing, and executing all types and sizes of events, like musical concerts, food festivals, and conventions. You’ll meet with clients to assess their needs and determine the purpose of the event.

STEM


STEM is an approach to education where students utilize skills acquired in science and math disciplines to accomplish an engineering problem while using technology.  It is an interdisciplinary, blended, applied approach to learning. These courses are challenging and rigorous, and prepare students for post-secondary education and employment.    STEM is an educational program developed to prepare primary and secondary students for college and graduate study in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

GAS

The General Academic Strand or GAS is one of the four strands of the Academic Track for Senior High School. Unlike the other career-specific strands,GAS is designed for students who are not decided yet on what course they want to take in college. General Academic Strand (GAS) While the other strands are career-specific, the General Academic Strand is great for students who are still undecided on which track to take.

The Sports Track aims to give you understanding of the basic principles and techniques in relation to physical education and recreation. … Physical Education includes an understanding of human movements through anatomy and physiology. Part of the curriculum in the Sports Track is Safety and First Aid.

TVL

What is technical vocational strand? TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM AND ITS IMPORTANCE TO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS. Immersion as part of the TVL curriculum also allows the students to observe application of skills in different industries which prepares them on how to apply their knowledge and practices in real life situations.

What is the meaning of ICT strand? Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Strand Under this strand, you will be encouraged to utilize information and communication technological tools to contextualize, collaborate, and create experiences for learning in this professional strand.

H.E

What is TVL home economics? HOME ECONOMICS (TVL-HE) TVL-HE is designed to develop students’ skills useful for livelihood projects at home. It provides a curriculum that is a combination of core courses required for all SHS strands and specialized hands-on courses that meet the standard hour requirement and competency-based assessment of TESDA.

Hoteliers are learning from independent restaurateurs about the importance of local culture and varied cuisines to operating a successful hotel restaurant operation.
Restaurants embracing local culture and independent operators have begun to pervade the hotel industry as hoteliers have looked for ways to be more relevant in a market’s dining space.

KUMBIRA 2018

The most awaited largest culinary show and competition in Northern Mindanao, Kumbira, launches its grand opening, with the theme, “Kitchens of Mindanao.” Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurant Association (COHARA), the organizer, seeks to promote the diverse Mindanaon culinary culture and for everybody to explore and experience the distinctive cuisine. Aside from being the biggest competition, Kumbira, is also the longest recognized culinary show here in the Philippines, running for 22 years, showcasing different culinary establishments, schools, talents, and cuisine across the region.

NAPKIN FOLDING –

Napkin folding is a type of decorative folding done with a napkin. It can be done as art or as a hobby. Napkin folding is most commonly encountered as a table decoration in fancy restaurants. 

BED MAKING –

Bed-making is the act of arranging the bedsheets and other bedding on a bed, to prepare it for use. It is a household chore, but is also performed in establishments including hospitals, hotels, and military or educational residences. 

WAITERS RELAY –

The waiters relay is a race to see who can set a table in a formal restaurant setting and clear it the fastest.

BARTENDING –

A bartender is a person who formulates and serves alcoholic or soft drink beverages behind the bar, usually in a licensed establishment. Bartenders also usually maintain the supplies and inventory for the bar. A bartender can generally mix classic cocktails such as a Cosmopolitan, Manhattan, Old Fashioned, and Mojito.

FRUIT CARVING –

Fruit carving is the art of carving fruit. There are many fruits that can be used in this process; the most popular one that artists use are watermelons, apples, strawberries, pineapples, and cantaloupes .

CHEF COOK –

A chef is a trained professional cook who is proficient in all aspects of food preparation, often focusing on a particular cuisine.

CENTERPIECE –

A centrepiece is an important item of a display, usually of a table setting. Centrepieces help set the theme of the decorations and bring extra decorations to the room. A centrepiece also refers to any central or important object in a collection of items.

CUPCAKE DECORATIONS –

A cupcake is a small cake designed to serve one person, which may be baked in a small thin paper or aluminum cup. As with larger cakes, icing and other cake decorations such as fruit and candy may be applied.

Industry segments include, among others: hotels, restaurants, private clubs, managed food service, event planning, tourism related businesses, and travel providers.

Food service managers are responsible for the daily operation of restaurants or other establishments that prepare and serve food and beverages. They direct staff to ensure that customers are satisfied with their dining experience, and they manage the business to ensure that it is profitable.

EVENT MANAGEMENT

Event management is the application of project management to the creation and development of large-scale events such as festivals, conferences, ceremonies, weddings, formal parties, concerts, or conventions .

ACCOMMODATION & HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

Accommodation is an absolutely broad sector of the hospitality industry, ranging from bed & breakfast enterprises and hotels to other facilities that offer lodging services. … Of the three things which people need, when they travel, the most important one is accommodation. Other two are food and transportation.

TOUR & TRAVEL MANAGEMENT

A travel agency is a private retailer or public service that provides travel and tourism related services to the public on behalf of suppliers such as activities, airlines, car rentals, cruise lines, hotels, railways, travel insurance, and package tours.
